Brad Keselowski

“Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski led for 231 laps of the 500 lap Food City 500 Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Many of the front-runners in the Sprint Cup points had less than a sterling day at Bristol!  Therefore, it would follow that many of us players also had a bad day at the race track, as well.

The two players who took the biggest hits at BMS were Carole and Jeremy.  Jeremy had selected “Cousin Carl” Edwards to win the race and allow him to make a run at the leaders, however, Edwards was involved in a lap 21 crash that also collected Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Kasey Kahne.  Unfortunately, Edwards only rewarded Jeremy with a whopping big 5 points for Bristol!  Additionally, the Gordons, Carole and Richard, chose Kasey Kahne to have a breakout day in the Sprint Cup races.  However, Kasey is now 4 for 4 in 2012!  there has been four races and he has crashed all four cars!

There wasn’t too much to hoot about today for most os us when the Food City 500 ended.  Nevertheless, there were two players who were very happy about the results of this race.  Both Karen and Jerry picked Matt Kenseth as their choices for Bristol.  They were the two highest scoring players today.  With Kenseth hot on the tail of the race winner when the checkered flag flew, “Blazingly Bad” Brad K., his second place finish rewarded both Karen and Jerry with 43 big points for their efforts!

The next highest scores for our players was 30 points each for Edie and Scott.

Notwithstanding the fact that very few players that had a good day, the beating that the rest of us took today has made the standings shake, rattle, and roll!  We have a new leader, Edie moved up two places to now be at the top of the heap!  Jim miraculously was able to barely hang on to his second place by scoring 24 points with his choice of Hamlin.  The former leader, yours truly, tumbled off of the mountain and fell into the third position with his, seemingly no-brainer choice of ol Kylie Busch!  Bernie surged up one position to land into fourth place with her choice of “the Dinger”!  Marc fell one position to fifth place with his choice of Kurt Busch.

So as you could see after checking the standings, we all were put into a blender, mixed up quickly, while some of us landed on our feet, others fell flat on their butts!

TIL NEXT TIME, PULL THOSE BELTS TIGHT, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
