Greg Biffle

For those of us who “were sticking with the Biff”, that fortuitous selection paid dividends quite handsomely Saturday night!  There were three players who picked Greg Biffle for the Samsung Mobile500 at the Texas Motor Speedway Saturday night.

Those lucky three players are Jerry, Dawn, and yours truly!  We were fortunate enough to grab 47 points for our efforts. By picking Biffle, Jerry has now climbed from the basement into the points lead, moving up 2 spots, surpassing Edie, and leading her by a very slim 5 points.  Remember that Jerry had Jeff Gordon for the Daytona 500, and only got 5 lousy points for that race.  Therefore, he made up a 42 point deficit, following the Daytona 500, just six races ago.  What a surge and change of luck!

The next highest score garnered was 40 points for Matt Keneth’s fifth place finish.  The lucky players who had Kenseth were Jeremy and Richard.  Of these two, only Jeremy was able to better his position in the standings, moving up 2 spots.  The next highest score for Saturday night’s race was 36 points for Carl Edwards 8th place finish, those points went to both Jim and Jason.  Jim lost one spot, however, Jason gained one position in the standings.

The player who moved the most in the standings was Karen, dropping 4 positions after her pick of “Smoke”, Tony Stewart, who finished 24th, 2 laps down.  The next biggest move in the standings was Dawn, who soared up 3 spots in the standings, she too was “sticking with the Biff”!

The Samsung Mobile 500 saw the sixth different driver to win in the first seven races.  “Smoke” is the only driver to win two races so far this season.  Additionally, Hendrick Motorsports, and Richard Childress Racing has failed to lead the pack to the checkered flag in 2012, and are win-less!  Who would have thought that HMS would be win-less this far into the 2012 season?

Check out the unofficial results of the Samsung Mobile 500.

Next week the series moves to another 1 1/2 mile track, Kansas.

TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR BELTS TIGHT, FLIP YOUR VISOR SOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
