For somebody who only scored 5 points in the season opener at Daytona, and was down 42 points to Jim after that race, Jerry is spanking the rest of the field! He has rebounded after that horrible start to erase the deficit, and extend his lead over second place, Edie, by nineteen (19) points after the Capital City 400 at Richmond International Raceway Saturday night. In the eight races since Daytona, Jerry has scored 61 points more than any other player!! If you look at Jerry’s results since Daytona, he has averaged scoring 41.25 points per race in eight races! That is really remarkable to be able to rack up those numbers. Also increasing his average by picking two winners in eight races doesn’t hurt too much, either.
The player who had the biggest movement this weekend was Jeremy. He had Hamlin as his driver of choice, scored 40 points, and he climbed three positions in the standings.
There was many players who either climbed two places or dropped two places. Those who climbed up the ladder two places were, Marc, Carole, Carolyn, and Karen. Those who fell two places this weekend were Jason, Bernie, Carole, Richard, and Carlton. Scott, Jim, and the cellar dweller, David, all remained in their previous positions. Time is running out for some of the players to make their move to the podium. For the three players that are presently sitting in podium positions, their spot is not locked up just yet.
Next week at Talladega anything could happen, even Dale, Jr. ending his 138 winless streak with another restrictor plate race win could definitely be in the cards!
The players that are sitting on the podium as of race number nine are:
1. Jerry with 335 points
2. Edie with 316 points
3. Leon with 305 points
The leading candidate for last place and the Boudreaux’s Butt Paste Award is:
1. David with 221 points
Next week NASCAR heads further into the DEEP SOUTH, Lynard Skynard country! Next week at Talladega anything could happen, even Dale, Jr. ending his 138 winless streak with another restrictor plate race win could definitely be in the cards!
TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR GLOVES TIGHT, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN”!
