Finally, Hendrick Motorsports drives into Victory Lane Saturday night at Darlington. It took 16 races for Jimmie Johnson to add to his career winning total, his last win was at Kansas last October. This happens to be the longest win-less streak for “Mr. Five-Time”, as well as Hendrick Motorsports! It took 16 tries for HMS to get its 200 Sprint Cup win. One would have never thought that one of the premier race teams could be shut out for so many races!
Two of our players had picked Jimmie Johnson to win at Darlington, Carlton and Carole. For their efforts, they were rewarded with 48 big points! The next highest reward for Saturday night was Marc with his selection of Denny Hamlin. Scott has a very good evening, as well, scoring 38 points with his selection of Kenseth. Yours truly had a very good evening, scoring 37 points.
Now for the movers and shakers for the week:
Jim led all movers for the week. Unfortunately for Jim, he took a huge dive this week, falling completely out of the money and far from grace by six positions! The next biggest movers were Carlton and Carolyn. Carlton climbed three places to 13th place, while Carolyn feel three spots to 15th place.
With just one race left in this segment, it would appear that Jerry has locked up winning this segment with his lead of 36 points over the present second place players. Edie and Marc are tied for second with a point score of 366. Following Marc and Edie in fourth place with a total of 363 points is yours truly. Rounding out the top five is Bernie with a score of 350 points. In positions 5-11 there are only 19 points that separate all of these players, favoring for a possible big shakeup for the last race of this segment.
So as you can see there is some keen competition still in the standings. The only one who has really locked up a money spot is Jerry, every other position is in play and fair game!
We actually have next week off, with just the Camping World Truck Series race and the All-Star race slated for Charlotte Friday and Saturday nights.
Good luck to all!
TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR BELTS TIGHT, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
