While some of us were involved in the preparations for a Father’s Day picnic, or a similar Father’s Day type celebration, David, our resident throttle jockey, was playing in the dirt at Ventura.

No, David wasn’t actually “playing in the dirt” like we used to play in the dirt as kids.  He was actually racing on the dirt with his midget!  But he was not there alone and neglecting his dad, Russ.  It is actually a family racing venture.

However, I did find out from Russ that the weekend was more costly than just entry fees at Ventura..  It seems that their truck developed some mechanical issues enroute to Ventura for the race.

Oh the trials and tribulations of a true racer!

Even though I have been giving David grief for his “strange” picks this segment, however, I can’t hammer him for his driving abilities!  In this video he started on the pole and led them all the way to the checkered flag.

Check out this two minute video of David, our “resident cellar dweller”!

Go fast, go left, NEVERLIFT!

TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR GLOVES UP, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
