This week both the Nationwide and the Sprint Cup series roll into those hallowed grounds in motor racing known as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway!  You read it right, both the Nationwide and the Sprint Cup series will race at IMS this weekend!

This will be the first time that the Nationwide series competes at “The Brickyard”!  Normally, the Nationwide series races at a track that is about 10 miles northwest of “The Speedway”, Lucas Oil Raceway (formally Indianapolis Raceway Park).

The Picks

The overwhelming choice by our players for Indy is “Smoke”, Tony Stewart.  Those choosing the 2011 Sprint Car champ to repeat his winning ways at the 2012 Brickyard 400 are: Karen, Scott, Richard, Carole, Bernie, and Dan.

“Mr. Five-Time”, Jimmie Johnson has four players pulling for him to lead the pack to the checkered flag, Sunday.  Those four players who will be wearing their #48 T-shirts Sunday are Jeremy, Edie, Jerry, and Carolyn.

There are only two players “sticking with the Biff” this Sunday, Jason and Carlton.

These three picks comprise 12 of the 17 players this Sunday.  The other 5 players are all in business for themselves!

Just a note:

I am the only one to be brave enough to out on the limb to pick a foreigner.  If my driver drives his Chip Ganassi Targe #42 Chevy into the famed winners circle at Indy, he will be the only driver to win both the Indy 500 and the Brickyard 400!  That is right I am selecting JPM, Juan Pablo Montoya for Sunday.

I am just hoping that JPM’s car does not look like the above picture!  That picture came from the opening minutes of practice at LVMS back in March!
