Brad Keselowski

The first race of the Chase is now complete, and I have made a pit stop for the night at the Spotlight 29 Casino in Indio,CA!

And the new leader is…..

It appears that “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski has charged into the points lead with his victory in the GEICO 400 at the Chicagoland Speedway Sunday.  “The Bay Area Bandit”, Bernie, was the only player brazen enough to pick “Bad” Brad K for Chicagloand, Sunday.  By winning the first race of the Chase, ol Brad K gave Bernie 47 points, and that rocketed her past Marc directly into the lead!

Movers and Shakers

The results of the GEICO 400 really caused a major shakeup in our standings!   The biggest mover was Richard “The NASCAR Picker”!  Yep the ol nickname has resurrected itself after a few years of being dormant.  Anyway, Richard “The NASCAR Picker”  plummeted eight (8) places with his selection of Kurt Busch.  Richard “The NASCAR Picker” fell from second place last week, to tenth place Sunday!  That pick garnered ol Richard 12 big points!

The next biggest mover for Sunday was David.  Now, it really shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that his pick did not fare too well Sunday.  David picked the Furniture Row Racing driver, Regan Smith, to win the GEICO 400.  However, Smith only rallied to give David 10 points. That my friends was the lowest point score of the day!  As a result of the his smokin’ 10 points, David dropped six (6) places, and back into his familiar place, like a steaming hot potato!  The cellar dweller is alive and well!!

On the positve side, by picking “Bad” Brad Keselowski, Bernie climbed five (5) spots to be our new leader.  Jason and Dawn, scoring 39 points each, climbed four (4) places each, and ultimately are tied for fourth place in the standings.

Dan and Edie stepped up three (3) places in the standings, while Jim fell three (3) places Sunday.  With the exception of Carolyn all the rest of the players moved up or  down 1-2 spots in the standings Sunday.

Next week NASCAR rolls into the Granite State for a race at the magical mile, Louden.  It will be very interesting to see if we have any more “surprises in store!
