As NASCAR moves into the Midwest this weekend for the second race at the Kansas Speedway, “The Dinger” gets another chance to drive the James Finch owned #51 Phoenix Racing Chevy. And just like “The Dinger”, each and everyone of us gets a second chance at our leader, Jim!
There are just five (5) races left in the 2012 season, therefore, the race for the Chase gets ever tighter, just like our race for the third segment winner. However, the race for the all important, winner take all Chase picks really heats up. As it stands before the Kansas race, Jim is the third segment leader with a comfortable sixteen (16) point lead over Carolyn. Carolyn, on the other hand, only has an eight (8) point lead over Dan, who is holding down third place. Dan’s margin over fourth place Dawn is merely three (3) points. The last podium position, fifth place, is held by Richard “The NASCAR Picker”, just five (5) points behind Dawn! So as you can see, the money positions are still tightly contested!
Right now, prior to the Kansas race, the winner of the Chase picks would be Jason! He is the only player to have selected “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski!!
Our Kansas Picks
One third of the players have joined hands, singing “Michael Row Your Boast Ashore” this week! That’s right, six players are “Sticking With The Biff”! At the restrictor plate tracks it is easy to understand a large group of our players pick my favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., however, for six players to band together at a mile and a half track, is very unusual. Even more unusual is the fact that these six players holding hands are “Sticking With The Biff” at Kansas! Karen, Leon, Jim, Jason, Bernie, and Dan, are all hoping for “The Biff” to bust off a big number for them! So on a close scrutiny, those five players that hooked up with Jim and “The Biff”, unfortunately will not gain any ground on the leader. They all will rise and fall at the same rate, Sunday! Is that like the old saying, “if you live by the sword, you will die by the sword?” Hmmmmmmmmmm!
Tony Stewart is the next biggest attraction for Sunday. Zee, Richard, and Carolyn, are all riding with the 2011 Sprint Cup Champ Sunday. Jerry and Marc, are hoping that Kyle Busch will bring them some good fortunes, even though KyBu couldn’t hit his butt with both hands at this time of the season each year!
The present Sprint Cup points leader, “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski, has both Scott’s and Dawn’s future in his racing hands at Kansas! Both of them are obviously hoping that their beer wagon driver shows them all the fast way around the newly repaved Kansas Speedway Sunday!
The other five players all have independent choices, and therefore, are in business for themselves!
Good luck to all! Cary on my wayward, after all we are just dust in the wind!!!! (Kansas)
TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR GLOVES UP, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
