Jimmie Johnson has taken the lead in the Sprint Cup Chase for the Cup.  With just three races left in the season, Mr. Five-Time has taken a big step closer to reigning in his six Sprint Cup championship is the last seven years.  With his victory in the Tums Fast Relief 500 at Martinsville, Johnson has taken the lead over “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski by a slim two (2) point margin!

Carolyn has maintained a very slim lead, five (5) points over Jim, despite her choice, “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keswelowski, starting near the very back of the field for at Martinsville!

Movers and Shakers

The biggest mover of the weekend is Dan “The Numbers Cruncher”!  Dan had chosen “Smoke”, Tony Stewart to win the race.  However, poor ol “Smoke” was only able to hang on to 27th place, and thus, Dan “The Numbers Cruncher” scored only 17 points. Those 17 points caused Dan “The Numbers Cruncher” to plunge towards the cellar six (6) places, thus, landing “The Numbers Cruncher” in 12th place!

Last week Dawn was resting comfortably in third place.  Sunday, Dawn picked Denny Hamlin for a good show in the Tums Fast Relief 500.  Unfortunately, Hamlin had a rotten day at Martinsville, finishing in 33rd place, thereby, only producing 12 points for all who were riding in his FedEx delivery race car!  The resultant 12 points caused Dawn to fall far from a podium position, kind of like a pile of space junk re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere!  She went from a money paying third place, to plunder into eighth (8) place!

On the positive movement side of the movers, Scott picked the winner Sunday.  He was the only one that chose “Mr. Five-Time”, Jimmie Johnson.  Johnson’s win gave Scott 48 big points, Sunday.  With that great choice, Scott was the biggest shaker, and moved up three places in the standings, to rest now in 4th place.

Carlton and Bernie each, moved up two places this week.  Bernie scored 42 points with her selection of Kasey Kahne.  While Carlton was riding the 500 laps with Clint Bowyer, and was rewarded nicely with 40 points!

To maintain her lead this week, Carolyn was riding with “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski, and garnered 39 points.  Marc and Jeremy scored 38 points with their selection of Jeff Gordon.

With three races left in the season, and looking at our standings, there are some really tight races within our ranks!  There are only 5 points between first and second place, Carolyn and Jim.  However, there are  22 points between second and third place, Jim and Richard.

From third place through twelfth, (3-12), that includes ten (10) players, the point differential is only 25 points!  That can only mean one thing, there will be keen competition for the last three money paying positions!

Next weekend NASCAR rolls into the high banked, lightening fast Texas Motor Speedway.  The racing will, no doubt, be really good!

Good luck to all!

TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR GLOVES UP, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, ANS LET’S GO RACIN”!

Now some entertainment from “a little Texas Band”
