After “The Gunfight at OK Coral” today between the Jeff Gordon crew and the Clint Bowyer crew late in the race, Kevin Harvick took home the victory in the Advocare 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.
I will tell all of you that the race was sort of mundane for the first half of the race. Ol Kylie Busch, TLVW, dominated the rest of the 42 competitors for over 200 laps, but was not able to bering home the victory Sunday.
Carolyn padded her points lead in the fantasy league with her selection of Kyle Busch.
Shakers and Movers
Dawn’s choice for Phoenix, the soon to be employed by Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014, Kevin Harvick, was able to hold off Denny Hamlin and secured his first win in over 14 months.
The biggest mover this week is Scott. Scott was betting the farm on Matt Kenseth would take the checkered flag ahead of the other 42 competitors. With Kenseth’s 14th place, Scott logged 30p points. However, those 30 points allowed Scott to slip the positions in the standings, landing in 8th place.
The second biggest movers were Dawn and Bernie. With Dawn’s pick of the race winner, Kevin Harvick, Dawn moved up two spots to rest in the last money paying position, 5th place.
Bernie didn’t fare nearly as good as Dawn. Bernie “The Bay Area Bandit” dropped two places, to rest in 11th place.
Jeremy, Zee, Dan, and Carole ratcheted themselves up one position after the Phoenix race. However, Jerry fell one spot.
All the rest of the players stood firmly in their respective spots in the standings, with just one race left in the season.
So sports fans, hang on to your seats for the finale at Miami-Homestead, the heat has just been turned up!
