With all the hoopla from the 55th running of the Daytona 500 now 4 days in the rear view mirror, NASCAR makes its first foray into the western swing of the 2013 season. Racing goes from the pack racing of Daytona, last weekend, to the super fast one mile bullring known as The Phoenix International Raceway.
Our Picks
Looking at our selections for PIR this weekend, the picks are very widely spread out over several drivers. Kyle Busch garnered three players rooting for him to get his first victory of the 2013 season. Those three players that are rooting for ol Kylie on this Sunday is Richard ‘The NASCAR Picker”, his roommate Carole, and Marc.
Six drivers, Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Clint Bowyer, Brad Keselowski, and Greg Biffle all have two players each that are riding shotgun with them this Sunday. The two players that are in “Happy ” Harvick’s corner are Jason, and yours truly. Zee and David, the 2012 USAC Western States Midgets Dirt Track Champion, are hoping that where there is “Smoke” there there is a victory! Dawn and Edie are hoping that “Mr. Five-Time”, Jimmie Johnson, can win back-to-back races to start out the 2013 season. Bernie, “The Bay Area Bandit”, and Jim are going to slurping down the 5Hour Energy drink and rooting Clint Bowyer to victory. Jeremy and Sue are hoping that the reigning Sprint Cup champion, “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski, can lead the pack to the checkered flag Sunday. And finally, both Dan and Jerry are just flatly gonna “stick with The Biff”!
Good luck to all this weekend!
For me, I will be watching both the Sprint Cup and Nationwide series races on TV, as well as, hitting my local dirt track, Cocopah Speedway, both Friday and Saturday night for the ASCS (American Sprint Car Series) National Tour sprint car races!
See you at the track!
TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR GLOVES UP, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN”!
