Kyle Busch

Kyle Busch had been the race leader on the previous two years, only to watch the victory slip out of his hands each year.  This year, after Marcos Ambrose dominated the first 51 laps, there was a different ending to the 2013 Watkins Glen road race movie!  It was Ol Kylie that led the pack to the checkered flag in this year’s Cheez-It 355 at The Glen.

Movers and Shakers

The last road race of the season was very good for two of our players.  Both “Jason the Latent Tie Dye Hippie”, as well as “Karen The Highly Opinionated Southern Belle” successfully picked TLVW, Kyle Busch, as The Cheez-It 355 winner.  Ol Kylie gave each of them 47 points today!

Dawn and “Bernie the Bay Area Bandit” rode high with the old Miller Lite beer wagon of “Blazingly Bad’ Brad Keselowski, and was rewarded very nicely with 42 points.

Both Jim and Edie was rooting for the 2000 Indy 500 winner and Columbian road racer, Juan Pablo Montoya.  JPM’s fifth place finish awarded them with 40 points each.

The only player to hang their hat on Martin Truex, Jr. at The Glen was Carlton.  The third place finish for Truex gave Carlton 41 much need points!

Meanwhile, Jerry was banking on Carl Edwards winning the race today. Edwards was able to bring home a fourth place finish and for that Jerry received 40 points, as well.

Lastly, Zee had a very good Sunday scoring 37 points from “Sliced Bread”, Joey Logano.

This week there were only two players, “A&M Aggie Sue” and Zee, who did not move in the standings!  That means that 15 out the 17 players either climbed up, or slid down in position this week.  The two biggest movers this week were “Richard The NASCAR Picker” and “Leon Your Humble Sheriff”.  Unfortunately both dropped in the standings like a bad habit, losing four spots respectively!

The next biggest mover is “Jason The Latent Tie Dye Hippie”.  Jason picked the winner, Kyle Busch, scoring 47 points, and climbing up three places in the points.

Dawn, “Bernie The Bay Area Bandit”, and “Karen The Highly Opinionated Southern Belle”, and “David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey” all climbed up two places this week.

“Jeremy The Coach”, on the other hand, plummeted two spots this week!

Straight From The Crapper

The husband and wife team, Carole and “Richard The NASCAR Picker”, collectively and separately had the single worst picks of the week!  Both selected “Mr. Five-Time”, Jeff Gordon this week.  Gordon, who is normally an excellent road racer, just lost the front end of the car and crashed, almost all by himself!  Those 8 points allowed Carole to make a huge run all the way to “The Outhouse” and “unseat” “David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey” from his comfortable, and familiar place in the standings!  Carole now has a 13 point cushion over David in her race to secure her seat in “The Outhouse!

Even though Carole has plummeted to the bottom of the standings, there are two players who seem to making their run “to the outhouse”.  Both “Richard The NASCAR Picker” and “Leon Your Humble Sheriff” continue to fall like a rock over the last couple of weeks.

Notwithstanding the reverse surges that Carole, Leon, and Richard are currently experiencing, do not overlook our present “Outhouse Award” holder, David. Even though David has climbed out of “the Outhouse”, he is only 13 points from re-establishing his dominance as the premiere cellar dweller of The Redneck Fantasy League!

With just two races left in this segment, there is still a lot of tight races throughout the entire standings.  The top five paying positions are still up for grabs!

Next week NASCAR rolls back into the high speed backyard of Chevy and Ford, Michigan International Speedway.

Good luck to all!
