This week NASCAR rolls into an area better known on the East Coast for honeymooning than for automobile racing, that being the Pocono Mountains of PA. This race track is strategically located about halfway between Allentown and Wilkes-Barre, just South of I-80

This is the first of two races scheduled annually at “The Tricky Triangle”, or better known as Pocono Raceway.  For those not totally familiar with the history of Pocono Raceway, a while back I wrote a small historical article just to illuminate some of the most important highlights regarding this PA track.  Check out some historical facts related to this facility.

 

The Pocono Picks

 

This week almost one third of the players have selected a four-time Sprint Cup champion as the overwhelming favorite to win at Pocono!  Carole, Dawn, “Jerry the Buschwacker”, “Jim, aka, Chiefy”, Brandon, and Lonna, have all decided to jump upon Jeffie Gordon’s bandwagon to try to end world hunger!

Both “David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey” and Doug, Jr. are hoping that Denny Hamlin can repeat what he accomplished in his rookie year of 2006, a clan sweep of both races!

Meanwhile, “A&M Aggie Sue” and Zee are “sticking with The Biff”, Greg Biffle, this week.

Additionally, “Jeremy The Coach” and “Doug The Former Mudslinger and Psychic, Turned Kettle Corn Dude” will be applying for membership, at least temporarily, in Junior Nation.  You are familiar with the club that is headed up by Dale Earnhardt, Jr.?

Lastly, “Dan the Numbers Cruncher” and “Bernie The Bay Area Bandit” were last seen at Walmart loading up on box after box of M&M’s!  I guess that their logic is the more you eat, the better ol Kylie Busch will race!  I’m just sayin……..”

That leaves six players that have individual selections for Pocono.  We all know what that means, right?  Yep, they are “in bidnez for themselves”!
