This weekend NASCAR returns for the 20th race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Even though the open wheel racing of IndyCars have a much longer and storied history at this hallowed facility, over the past 20 years NASCAR has established it’s own history there!
Our Indy Picks
Once again, the 1994 inaugural Brickyard winner, Jeff Gordon, emerges as the favorite amongst The Redneck Fantasy League players. Gordon has four players, “Karen The Highly Opinionated Southern Belle”, “Carlton The Doorman”, “A&M Aggie Sue”, and “Jeremy The Coach”, all hoping to grab a cool 48 points this week at Indy, if Gordon grabs his fifth Indy victory!
In the copilot seat with “Mr. Six-Pack”, Jimmie Johnson, this week are Zee, “Jason The Latent Tie Dye Hippie”, and “Doug The Former Mudslinger and Psychic, Turned Kettle Corn Dude”.
Both Lonna and Brandon are hoping that “The Delivernator”, Denny Hamlin, can deliver a winner for them this weekend at Indy.
Similarly, both Edie and “David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey”, and current two-time feature winner at Petaluma Speedway this summer, are betting the farm that Carl Edwards will show them the fast way around “The Brickyard”!
Even though Matt Kenseth has not yet visited Victory Lane this season, both “Jim, aka Chiefy” and “Bernie The Bay Area Bandit” feel that Kenseth can make it happen this Sunday at Indy!
Lastly, Doug Jr. and “Leon Your Most Humble Sheriff” are hoping that “Sliced Bread”, Joey Logano, will dominate the field at “The Brickyard”, and bring the hardware back to Team Penske.
The five players that were not mentioned this week belong to that category of being “in bidnez” for themselves this weekend!
TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR GLOVES UP, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
