Jimmie Johnson marches on to victory early in the 2015 season by winning in The Fold of Honor Quik Trip 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, GA today!
Movers and Shakers
This week not a single player chose “Mr. Six-Pack”, Jimmie Johnson, to take the hardware home from Atlanta! Nevertheless, “Carlton The Doorman” was the only player to have second place finisher, Kevin Harvick, as his choice, and therefore, he was the highest scorer of the race with 44 points.
“Lonna The Self Professed Quilt Angel” had a very good race day, as well. She was foresightful enough to be the only player to select Dale Earnhardt,Jr. Earnhardt, Jr. finished third and that gave “The Quilt Angel” 42 big points!
Next on the scoring totem pole is “Jeremy The Coach”! “The Coach” gathered up 41 points from Joey Logano’s fourth place finish in Atlanta this weekend.
Scoring the fourth highest points of the weekend are Carole and “Leon The Retired Airline Captain, Part-Time Cardiologist and Strawberry Picker, Elephant Driver, and Your Most Humble Sheriff”. These two grabbed a slick 40 points from Matt Kenseth’s fifth place finish.
Rounding out the top five scorers for the week is “A&M Aggie Sue”, who was rewarded 36 points for “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski’s ninth place finish.
Since we had twelve players tied last week for second place I chose not to analyze the movement of players this week, since it really would not be a very fair assessment of actually the true comings and goings of the group. Next week I will return that part of the post for our amusement!
Straight From The Crapper
This week we have a tie for “the crappiest pick of the week” award. Both Zee and “Karen The Highly Opinionated Southern Belle” appeared to have a lock for a great week with their pick of Jeff Gordon. However, for the second week in a row, Gordon was gathered up in the Atlanta version of “the big one”! And once again, Gordon was wrecked and impacted the crash wall just past the SAFER barrier, meaning he caught the full brunt of the cement wall!
It is quite obvious that both of these ladies felt the same pain that ol Jeffie felt upon impact, walking away from Atlanta with a microscopic 3 points!
Despite scoring only 3 points, it was not devastating enough for either one of these two players to plummet into “The Outhouse”!
Speaking of “The Outhouse Award”, this week Marc “unseated” Edie, and took firm possession of the throne this week!
Next week NASCAR, as well as yours truly, will be rolling into Sin City, Las Vegas. This is the beginning the West Coast swing for the third through fifth race of the season.
Viva Las Vegas!
Good Luck!
TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR GLOVES UP, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
