In the last nine Spring races at the Texas Motor Speedway there has been nine different winners. Tonight you can chalk up another different winner for the Spring race at TMS. It is now ten out ten! Jimmie Johnson did something that he has never done before in his storied career, and that is win the Spring race at Texas!
Movers and Shakers
As the title of this post indicates, Dawn hit “the trifecta” with Jimmie Johnson and soars into the lead this weekend.
We had three players who hit the big time at Texas Motor Speedway with “Mr. Six-Pack”, Jimmie Johnson’s Duck Commander victory. Not only did Dawn hit it big with 48 points, but Edie and “Doug Jr. The Crowned Prince of Kettle Corn” also enjoyed the spoils of 48 points with Johnson’s victory!
Also having a great weekend at Texas was “Lonna The Quilt Angel”. Her pick was the 2014 Sprint Cup champ, Kevin Harvick, and was rewarded very nicely with 43 points.
There were four players who racked up 41 points this week. Three of the players, “Jim, aka Chiefy”, “Jason The Latent Tie Dye Hippie”, and yours truly “Leon Your Most Humble Sheriff” all had picked “Sliced Bread”, Joey Logano to win. The fourth player, “A&M Aggie Sue”, was rooting for Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who slipped to third place in the last 100 yards prior to the Start/Finish line. But nevertheless, that group did very well.
Doing almost as well this week were “Carlton The Doorman” and “Dan The Numbers Cruncher”, both gathered up 38 points via Jeff Gordon’s 7th place finish.
Rounding out the top five scorers this week were Marc and “Cole The Natural”, who were solidly rooting for Carl Edwards and hoping that he could log his first win with his new race team Joe Gibbs Racing. Edwards did not win the race but did give these two players a nice score of 34 points!
There were only two players who held serve on their position this week on the totem pole, “Jim, aka Chiefy” and Marc.!
Edie, Carole, and “David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey” were the biggest movers of the week. Edie climbed up three spots this week to land in 16th place. However, both Carole and “David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey” fell three spots to reside in 11th and 20th, respectively this week!
Four players climbed up two spots this week, “Lonna The Quilt Angel”, “Linda The Cookie Mom”, “Carlton The Doorman“, and “Doug Jr. The Crowned Prince of Kettle Corn”. Conversely, Zee and “Jeremy The Coach” stumbled and fell two spots.
The rest of the players either moved up or down one position after the Duck Commander 500!
Straight From The Crapper
In actuality we all had a fairly good race at TMS. Therefore, I had to dig deep to select the “crappiest pick of the week” award. But after analyzing the scores there were two players who scored the lowest amount of points this week, Zee and “David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey”. So for this week that award is equally divided between those deserving individuals.
After “holding court” for the last two weeks as “Prince of The Poophouse”, and “The Controller of The Crapper”, “Cole The Natural” was evicted out of “The Outhouse”! This week Zee takes over as our “Princess of The Poophouse”, and our new “Outhouse Award” stakeholder!
Next week it is on the “The Last Colosseum”, better known as Bristol Motor Speedway!
TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR GLOVES UP, FLIP YOUR VISOR DOWN, AND LET’S GO RACIN”!
