This week the NASCAR haulers, after offloading the crumpled sheet metal at their respective shops, will be heading southwest out their facility in Charlotte on I-85 with Georgia on their minds. Their destination is the greater Atlanta metro area. In actuality, they will be heading to the southeast suburb of Hampton, GA and the Atlanta Motor Speedway, which is directly across from the FAA offices of Atlanta Center.

OUR ATLANTA PICKS

This week we have a threeway tie with three players each supporting Harvick, Keselowski, and KuBu.

This week Karen The Highly Opinionated Southern Belle, Carole, aka Rudy, and Dan The Numbers Cruncher are solidly behind “Freaky Fast” Kevin Harvick.  All three are hoping to see Harvick work his way up through the pack, lead the most laps, and hoist the hardware as the Sun begins to set Sunday.

Likewise, there are three players, Snoopy Dawn, Carlton The Doorman, and Bernie The Bay Area Bandit, who have put all their marbles in the marble bag of “Blazingly Bad” Brad Keselowski. Word from some of my well placed sources have indicated that Snoopy, The Doorman, and The Bandit are planning a winning celebration that may send all three of them to the pokey Sunday!

Meanwhile, Lonna The Quilt Angel, Jeremy The Coach, and Linda R. The Lemonade Lefty will be riding shotgun with the driver formally known as “The Outlaw”, Kurt Busch. I am hearing from sources familiar to those negotiations that this mismatched group were seeking to gather secret team information that would help them in future races. I will have to dispatch my best investigators this week for further questioning.

Lastly, David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey and Wild The Pretzel Man are joining forces to support the 2018 Cup champion, “Slice Bread”, aka Joey Logano.

This week we have more than one third of the fantasy league, seven players, who are expressing the independence, which makes them unequivocally in bidnez for themselves!

Now that we have the last restrictor plate race in the rearview mirror, yes NASCAR is removing the restrictor plates and replacing them with tapered spacers in the throttle body for the super speedways at Talladega and Daytona. It is time for the race teams to put the new aero package on the cars, get the horsepower back into the motors, get back to some serious racing at AMS.

Good luck to all!

FOR NOW, PULL THOSE BELTS TIGHT AND LET THE BIG DOG EAT!
