Kyle Busch

There was an air of inevitability to Kyle Busch’s closing run in Sunday’s TicketGuardian 500 at ISM Raceway.

Busch was tracking down race leader Ryan Blaney after restarting fourth on Lap 239 of the fourth Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race of the season. Running in Blaney’s wake for 37 laps, Busch finally made the winning pass on Lap 296 of 312 and nursed his car to the finish line.

Busch’s third victory at the 1-mile track and his 52nd in the series left him one win short of his goal of 200 aggregate victories across NASCAR’s three national series. Combined with Saturday’s win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Phoenix, the Sunday triumph gave Busch the 12th two-race weekend sweep of his career.

THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF THE GO FAST

This week we have two players who were riding shotgun with The TicketGuardian 500k winner, Kyle Busch. While wallowing down near “The Outhouse” to start off the 2019 season, both David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey and Snoopy Dawn received a huge shot in the arm from “Rowdy’s” Phoenix victory! Each player, The Mudslinging Throttle Masher and Snoopy, pocketed a cool 56 points.

THE MOVERS AND THE SHAKERS

Lonna The Quilt Angel had a very enjoyable race in The Valley of The Sun. The Quilt Angel racked up 44 points while strapping in and riding with young Ryan Blaney for 312 laps at ISM Raceway.

Meanwhile, Karen The Highly Opinionated Southern Belle and Amber The Extremely Lucky Cheddar Head each racked up 42 points, however that score was from two different drivers. The Highly Opinionated One was rooting for Martin Truex, Jr, and The Cheddar Head was supporting Aric Almirola,

Still another duo logged the same point value, 38 markers, from two different drivers. Linda R. The Lemonade lefty was hoping that “The Delivernator”, Denny Hamlin, could lead the field the the checkered flag. Unfortunately, the best that Hamlin could muster was a 5th place finish. Bernie The Bay Area Bandit was all in for the 2018 MENCS champ, Joey Logano.

Rounding out the weekly top five scorers is a group of five players that was riding shotgun with the winningest driver at ISM Raceway. Those five players include Leon Your Most Humble Sheriff, Kathy The Church Forecloser, Carlton The Doorman, Edie The Las Vegas Super Star, and Jim, aka Chiefy all depositing 37 points into the bucket this week.

The single largest mover of the week is Jeremy The Coach. It was not a good race for The Coach as he plummeted seven (7) places this week to crash into 13th place.

Another pair of players were participants in another volatile transaction. Both Snoopy Dawn and Wild Bill the Pretzel Man moved five (5) positions as the checkered flag flew in Avondale. Snoopy had the best day of these two ladies climbing up five places to sit in 8th place this week, while The Pretzel Man stumbled five places to reside in 17th spot.

Meanwhile, Carole, aka Rudy, slipped three places on the leaderboard to inhabit 4th place.

Lastly, David The Mudslinging Throttle Masher fell two places to control 12th place.

STRAIGHT FROM THE CRAPPER

The Crappiest Pick of the Week” award is shared this week with Carole, aka Rudy, and Wild Bill the Pretzel Man, each player managing to add just 18 points to their totals.

The race for “The Outhouse” has tightened up quite a bit this week. While Kathy The Church Forecloser is still somewhat secure in her favorite place, The Outhouse”, however four players are making a serious run to evict her! Those four players include Wild Bill The Pretzel Man, Linda R. The Lemonade Lefty, Dan The Numbers Cruncher, as well as Jim, aka Chiefy. It will be very interesting to see who will deliver the eviction notice to the Church Forecloser next week!

Next week the haulers will move about 270 miles West to Fontana, CA and Auto Club Speedway.

TIL NEXT TIME, PULL THOSE BELTS TIGHT AND LET’S GO RACING’!
