Denny Hamlin

After NASCAR staging the season’s longest race at Charlotte, the Coca Cola 600, the haulers will be heading up to one on the Northeast’s honeymoon havens, the Pocono Mountains of south central PA. This will be the first of two summer races at “The Tricky Triangle”, Pocono Raceway.

Pocono Raceway is located about 53 miles north of Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton, PA. The airport designation for the airport that serves this area is ABE (there was a time when I flew in and out of ABE quite a bit in the 80’s). The Allentown area gained fame as the former digs of two of our players, Snoopy Dawn and Carlton The Doorman.

For those that either do not know the history of the Pocono Raceway, or have forgotten the history of that track, you can follow this link and get caught up on that gray area of your historical racetrack knowledge!

It appears that a significant number of players has had an epiphany this week! Five of our own, Edie The Las Vegas Super Star, Carlton The Doorman, Bernie The Bay Area Bandit (now raiding Europe), David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey, as well as Amber The Extremely Lucky Cheddar Head are all banding together to support The Delivernator, Denny Hamlin, at Pocono.

Blazingly Bad Brad Keselowski nearly has an equally large rooting section as Hamlin this week. Karen The Highly Opinionated Southern Belle, her sister Kathy The Church Forecloser, Linda B The Cookie Mom, and our resident accountant, Dan The Numbers Cruncher, are all in for Bad Brad at Pocono.

Jim, aka Chiefy and Carole, aka Rudy, are fully backing the Dawsonville, GA, native and second generation driver, Chase Elliott, this week at The Tricky Triangle.

Meanwhile, Jeremy The Coach and Leon Your Most Humble Sheriff are betting the farm that Freaky Fast Kevin Harvick can finally break his year long losing streak and hoist the hardware in PA.

For all the math majors left in The Redneck Fantasy League you will notice that I have mentioned 2/3 of our players in the above article, so far. That means that this week 1/3 of our fantasy league, six players, are totally in bidnez for themselves!

Good luck to all this week at Pocono.
