Clint Bowyer

This week NASCAR rolls northwest into the edge of the heartland of America, Speedway Indiana. As the haulers take the Crawfordsville Road exit off of I-465 and head east towards the 16th Street tunnel and the singularly most iconic racing venue in the whole USA, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, it will be time for the Playoff contenders to take it up one more notch.

It is also that time in the NASCAR season for our players to take their game up a notch, as well. This is the last race of “the regular season”. After this race, the old phrase of “if you can’t run with the big dogs you need to stay up on the porch” comes in to play!

OUR INDY PICKS

This week there is not one overwhelming favorite amongst the sixteen players. It seems like we all have split up and staked out our own corner or claim with just one other player, hoping to make a gigantic leap in the standings early on in this segment. Either that or we have decided that there is nobody that we care to hang out with for the week!

There are six different drivers that have accumulated a cheering section of two players each at Indy. So we will list and discus the drivers alphabetically so that there is no slight of hand, preference, or dart throwing, or bias but this writer!

Both Kilimanjaro Bobby and Leon The Retired Airline Pilot, Part-time Cardiologist, Strawberry Picker, and most of all, Your Most Humble Sheriff are backing the Emporia KS native, Clint Bowyer, at Indy.

Equally important to both Lonna The Quilt Angel and Kathy The Church Forecloser will be the welfare of the senior Busch Bro., Kurt, this week. The Quilt Angel and The Church Forecloser would love nothing better Sunday to see their man, formally known as The Outlaw, drive his hot rod into Victory Lane, hoist the hardware, and pop a Monster Energy Drink!

“Not so fast”, Linda R. The Lemonade Lefty and Dan The Numbers Cruncher are thinking this week because they would love nothing better that to see their dude, ol Rowdy The Whiner, kiss the bricks Sunday. After the race at Darlington Kyle Busch was his ol typical self, pouting about his non-winning efforts at Darlington!

Meanwhile, Carlton The Doorman and Bernie The Bay Area Bandit have joined forces to root on ol Freaky Fast Kevin Harvick. Both are really hoping that Harvick can end the regular season on a high note with a win at the facility at 16th Street and Georgetown Road.

But Snoopy Dawn and Carole, aka Rudy, have a much different idea on what would be a proper outcome of the race at Indy. Both of these ladies are putting all their fortunes early in the segment on the Team Penske driver, Blazingly Bad Brad Keselowski, this week! Both ladies would really like to bask in the spotlight and pocket a cool 40, 50, or even 60 points when the checkered flag waves in Indiana.

Lastly, Amber The Extremely Lucky Cheddar Head and David the Mudslinging Throttle Jockey have their individual money lying squarely on Easy Money this week. Both players seem to thing that, although Kyle Larson is not an IndyCar driver yet, they both are feeling that he is about to make his mark on this iconic facility this week!

Now for those counting I have only discussed 12 players this week. You know what that means, don’t you? There are four players that are in bidnez for themselves this week!

TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR BELTS TIGHT, AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
