This week NASCAR rolls southwest from their hub in Charlotte 360 miles down I-85 to Atlanta with a turn west in I-20 to the tiny hamelot that encompasses Talladega Superspeedway in sweet home Alabama!
OUR TALLADEGA CHOICES
Once again for all the astute observers of this fantasy league, you have noticed that the accompanying photo of William Clyde Elliott, Jr. there is a little sneak glimpse of Joey Logano trailing his hot rod. Some may think that is just a coincidence of some fantastic racing photojournalism by Your Most Humble Sheriff. But oh contrare fellow race fans, there was some method to his slightly weird and egocentric madness!
This week there is a joining of consensus between three slightly different on divergently opposing players. Linda B. The Cookie Mom, Kathy The Church Forecloser, and Dan The Numbers Cruncher are foregoing their differences and teaming up to back the face of Hendrick Motorsports, Chase Elliott at the last running of the Talladega race for 2019.
Equally as energetic in their weekly support is Jeremy The Coach, Snoopy Dawn, and Bobby Blue Crush. All three of these players are in solidly with Sliced Bread. That is right these three players are confidently holding the line, and rooting loudly, for Joey Logano in the heart of the South.
There are four drivers that have a small, but very vociferous, rooting section of two players each at ‘Dega. Leading this discussion is Jim, aka Chiefy and Lonna The Quilt Angel, who are 100% backing the late summer’s new found hero, Alex Bowman. After Bowman The Showman’s miraculous display of grit and driving skills at the ROVAL that got him into this Round of Twelve, he is garnering more support amongst the fantasy league!
However, Carole, aka Rudy, and Linda R. The Lemonade Lefty sense that it is time for the driver formally known as The Outlaw, Kurt Busch, to make some hay and steal a win from the Playoff drivers at Talladega.
It would appear that Amber The Extremely Lucky Cheddar Head and Leon Your Most Humble Sheriff have a very different opinion. Both of these highly unpredictable players are of the opinion that it is time for The Delivernator to deliver a victory for them! Both players will be looking for the Fed Ex package truck to pull up to their cribs and have Denny Hamlin deposit a victory on the their front porch, minus a porch pirate!
Lastly, Edie The Las Vegas Super Star and Carlton The Doorman are betting the farm that Martin Truex, Jr. will prevail through all the trials and tribulations that Talladega produces at each race by circumnavigating those said trials and tribulations, and ease his hot rod on into victory lane at the of the day.
This week the amount of people that are completely independent is the smallest in quite sometime! There are just two players who are keeping their picks close to the vest, and thusly are totally in bidnez for themselves!!
No matter what the outcome of Sunday’s race maybe, it will all come out in the wash!
