Kyle Larson

Well gang the 2019 NASCAR season is coming to a conclusion this weekend! It has been loads of fun and excitement bringing you the Redneck Fantasy League sights and sounds. This will be the last Wednesday post of the the 2019 season.

OUR HOMESTEAD SELECTIONS

To finish off the 2019 NASCAR season here are our last picks of the season. There is a nice spread of opinion as to who we, collectively, think will win the last race of the season.

There are two drivers that have a rooting section of three players each. Jim, aka Chiefy, Carole, aka Rudy, as well as Linda R. The Lemonade Lefty are hoping that Mr. Seven-Time has at least one more victory up his sleeve, and can pull it off at Homestead. It has been a long, tough, and winless, 2019 season for Jimmie Johnson. Could this be the race that the iconic HMS Number 48 goes to Victory Lane?

Similarly, Carlton The Doorman, Lonna The Quilt Angel, and Linda B. The Cookie Mom are putting all their marbles in the marble sack of Easy Money this week. Kyle Larson has traditionally been very good at Homestead over his brief NASCAR career, and could easily star in the spoiler role this weekend.

Meanwhile, Edie The Las Vegas Super Star and Jeremy The Coach will be riding shotgun with Ol Rowdy this weekend. Both players are hoping that Kyle Busch can break out of his 20+ race winless streak. KyBu’s star has plateaued over the summer months and will need to be kick started if he is to win the 2019 championship.

Still Bobby Blue Crush and David The Mudslinging Throttle Jockey have a different idea this weekend. Blue Crush and The Mudslinger are hoping that William Clyde Elliott, Jr. (aka Chase) can get past all of his mechanical issues that have seemed to consume this team in the last few weeks and put together a winning race, much to the chagrin of the Playoff drivers.

Rounding out, for the last time this season, the support shown this week for the drivers includes two players solidly behind Martin Truex, Jr. Both Leon Your Most Humble Sheriff and Bernie The Bay Area Bandit are rooting for Martin Truex, Jr. to hoist the hardware at Homestead. (Just as a side note, if he does that, win the race, he would notch his second championship as well!)

Good luck to all this week!

Editor’s note: I would like to ask a small favor from each one of the members to say a little prayer for yours truly on the morning of November 21st. That is the morning that I will be rolled into the operating room at Scripps La Jolla, about 6:30 am, to have open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve.

I purposely postponed the surgery till NASCAR was over and my fantasy league responsibilities concluded.

I thank you in advance!

TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR BELTS TIGHT AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
