Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney & Kyle Larson

This weekend will be something brand new to all three of the touring series of NASCAR. The Trucks, Xfinity, as well as the Cup series will all be racing on the famed Daytona International Speedway road course this weekend. These three series have never raced on the road course ever! What makes it even more exciting is that there will be no practice or qualifying. Yep, the first time that any of these drivers will be on the track with their 3500 pound ground pounder will be when the green flag flies! That ought to get some of those fearless risk takers’ heart rate up near the 200 beats per minute going down into road race turn #1

As we embark on the last segment of the 2020 race season we will be seeing who are the pretenders and who are the contenders. One of the most important questions regarding the players is “can Amber The Extremely Lucky Cheddar Head lead the 3rd segment as well”? If that were to happen from the very git-go in this segment, there will be a whole lot of “heartache tonight”!

More importantly, if she does well right off of the bat at this road course, and gives us an old fashion blue collar butt whoopin’, I can see that The Redneck Fantasy League P.I. will be instructed to widen his investigation that was started last week to sniff out Dan The Numbers Cruncher. I can see that he will be casting a much wider investigation that would have to include The Cheddar Head in his work!

OUR ROAD COURSE PICKS

There are three drivers that have accumulated a small rooting section for the road race at Daytona.

Snoopy Dawn and Carlton The Doorman are joining forces once again to support and root loudly for the winless 2019 Cup champion, Kyle Busch. Every week all the pundits keep saying that this is the week for ol Rowdy to break out of his year-long slump. So the question of the week is……. will this be that week?

Meanwhile, Linda The Cookie Mom and Leon Your Most Humble Sheriff are pairing up to cheer Chase Elliott to victory at “The World Center Of Speed”. Both players are probably having little “deja vu” for dessert and reminiscing about the last time that William Clyde Elliott, Jr. raced a road race. For those that may have lost that part of their short term memory, the last road course that was raced by the Cup dudes was “The Roval” at Charlotte last year. If my memory serves me well Chase hoisted the hardware there!

Laastly, Jim, aka Chiefy, and Bernie The Bay Area Bandit have the same somewhat distorted vision at Daytona. Both are betting the farm on the 2020 Daytona 500 winner, The Delivernator. Chiefy and La Bandita must think that Denny Hamlin can put a whoopin’ on the field this weekend.

For those players steeped in math there are five players who went out on their own little limb and are definitely in bidnez for themselves!

Good luck to all!

TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR BELTS TIGHT AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
