We are headed towards another weekend doubleheader. This weekend it is at the Dover International Speedway in the capital of Delaware, and just a couple of miles northwest of Dover AFB, home to the C5-B Galaxy! (I made a few take-offs and landings there during my USAF career flying the workhorse of the entire military back in the mid to late 70’s, the C-141 Starlifter (be still my heart!)
Because NASCAR is running five races in three days, one Truck Series race on Friday, and NXS and Cup races each day on Saturday and Sunday, I am combining our Dover 1 and Dover 2 race picks into one post,
DOVER 1 SELECTIONS
Our selections for the Dover 1 race sends an overwhelming message that the fantasy league is in favor of MTJ, Martin Truex, Jr. for the Saturday race. Five players, nearly half of the entire composition of this fantasy league, are onboard with the 2017 NASCAR Cup champ. Those five players composing the support for Truex consists of Snoopy Dawn, Carlton The Doorman, Edie The Las Vegas Super Star, Dan The Numbers Cruncher, and Leon Your Most Benevolent and Extremely Humble Sheriff have gone all in for MTJ for the Dover 1 race.
But it appears that Jeremy The Coach and Bernie The Bay Area Bandit did not get the memo this week! Both oof these players have decided to back Blazingly Bad Brad Keselowski for the first Dover race.
That leaves, after doing math in public, four fantasy league players, Amber The Extremely Lucky Cheddar Head, Jim, aka Chiefy, Linda The Cookie Mom, and Carole, aka Rudy, who are completely in bidez for themselves for Saturday!
DOVER 2 SELECTIONS
The choices for the Dover 2 race is not nearly as overwhelming as they are for Dover 1.
The most favored driver for Dover 2 happens to be the dude from Emporia, Kansas, and possibly soon to be the unemployed SHR No. 14 driver, Clint Bowyer. Those who are all in for Bowyer includes Jim, aka Chiefy, Edie The Las Vegas Super Star, and Bernie The Bay Area Bandit.
There are three drivers that have the backing of two players each for this race. Carole, aka Rudy and Dan The Numbers Dude are joining forces in their belief that Chase Elliott can add a win at Dover 2 to his 2020 resume.
Meanwhile, Snoopy Dawn and Carlton The Doorman are solidly together in their support for Freaky Fast Kevin Harvick at Dover.
Lastly, Jeremy The Coach and Linda The Cookie Mom seem to think that Martin Truex, Jr. has a very good shot to hoist the hardware Sunday in Dover 2.
Good luck to all!
This has been such a wacky year it reminds me of a song from my days living in NYC, in 1980-82! Here are few of the lyrics from CSN that come to mind.
And there’s so much time to make up everywhere you turn
Time we have wasted on the way
So much water moving underneath the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away
TIL NEXT TIME, PULL YOUR BELTS TIGHT AND LET’S GO RACIN’!
